Example 2: A Common Mistake – Incorrect Verb Conjugation

Korean (Incorrect): 저는 민수라고 해요. 한국에 온입니다. 대학생이에요.

Pronunciation: Jeoneun Minsu rago haeyo. Hanguge onimnida. Dakae bangsyeo ieyo.

Translation (Literal – Incorrect): My name is Minsoo, I said. I came to Korea. I’m a university student.

Correction: The verb “to come” needs the correct form. “온다” (onda) becomes “왔어요” (wasseoyo) in the past tense.
